This holiday season, amid parties, shopping, visits from in-laws, you can take a break from the business and go sample a variety of different whiskeys. With two whiskey events in town over the next few weeks, those in St. Louis will have plenty of opportunity to savor and learn about this popular spirit.

Whiskey in the Winter
Nov. 22, The Hyatt-Regency
A top-notch whiskey event featuring more than 250 different styles of whiskey, as well as whiskey cocktails and food stations, Whiskey in the Winter is not an event to miss. ThisĀ  festival attracts crowds from all over the St. Louis area, but also from across the country. Guests can not only sample brands like Jameson, Jim Beam, Jack Daniel’s, Spirits of St. Louis, Heaven Hill and Crown Royal, but also from more craft-style whiskeys like Templeton Rye, Red Breast and Monkey Shoulder. Arrive early to check out all that the event offers, including educational seminars.

Funeral of a Friend: The Rarest Whiskey Tasting
Dec. 10, Sanctuaria Wild Tapas
This one-of-a-kind whiskey event highlights the classic brand Elijah Craig and some of the last few bottles that Sanctuaria owns (or will ever own). Introduced in the style of a “funeral,” guests are encouraged to mourn the whiskey’s death properly by sampling the bourbon barrel-handed taste and enjoying a three-course dinner if chosen, a memorial cocktail, hors d’ouevres and a so-called sermon from Matt Seiter, Father of the Barrel Program at the venue.
