17 St. Louis Restaurants Honored By Wine Spectator Magazine

Wine Spectator magazine recently recognized 17 restaurants in St. Louis for their wine selections. The Wine Spectator 2014 Restaurant Awards name eateries whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. This year, nearly 3,800 restaurants were recognized worldwide.

The Best of Award of Excellence is the magazine’s “second-tier” award, which honors restaurants with more than 400 quality wine selections with superior presentation that “display either vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.”

Five St. Louis restaurants were awarded the Best of Award of Excellence:

The Award of Excellence is the magazine’s “basic” award, which recognizes restaurants with wine lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. These lists typically offer at least 100 selections.
