10 Reasons To Attend Handmade Happy Hour: Summer In The City

Fifty local vendors and 1,500 St. Louisans will take over Downtown on July 18 in an effort to raise $2,500 for the Coolfire Foundation – all while supporting independent local businesses. Handmade Happy Hour: Summer In The City will take place on 13th Street at Washington Avenue from 5-10pm. We’ve compiled 10 reasons this event should top your list of weekend plans.

1/ Free To Attend 
As always, Handmade Happy Hour is a free event. It will take place from 5pm to 10pm on Friday, July 18 and will benefit The Coolfire Foundation. RSVP for free and reserve your spot to shop.

2/ Free Photobus Photobooth 
If you haven’t seen the Photobus STL in action, make your way Downtown next Friday night. This portable photo booth is set up in a vintage VW Bus. With the help of cute props and the DIY set up, you and your friends can personalize the shot and take the photo when you’re ready.

3/ Mini Music Festival 
This season, Handmade Happy Hour will host a mini outdoor music festival to accompany the event. You’ll hear from bands like Arthur & The Librarian, DJ TrashTalk, Kenny DeShields, Kristen Goodman and DJ Selkie.

4/ Help The Coolfire Foundation
In an effort to raise $2,500 for The Coolfire Foundation, ALIVE is offering a VIP Tasting Lounge ticket option with proceeds going directly to Coolfire. Enjoy 5 hours of an open bar with Urban Chestnut, Pinnacle Vodka and Skinny Girl Vodka and Wine. Nosh on complimentary bites from local restaurants like Rosalita’s Cantina, Ruth’s Chris, Lucas Park Grille, Empire Pizza, Hiro Asian Kitchen and more.

5/ Celebrate With Thirteenth & Washington
Thirteenth & Washington celebrates their 2nd anniversary this year and will be hosting their annual party during Handmade Happy Hour. Free beauty bags will be available from Kristen Linares and Valerie Brown inside the creative space, and the salon team will be giving away gift cards, product baskets and more.

6/ Cocktail Sampling
You might shop until you drop, but you won’t go thirsty. Drink samples will be available for the early birds. Or, purchase a VIP ticket and enjoy free food and open bar all evening long.

Finding a baby sitter need not be a concern. Handmade Happy Hour is always a family-friendly event. Yelp will be hosting a DIY table perfect for your creative little ones.
